NEW HABIT: Replace hair conditioner with hair oil
For the last couple of years, I have grown all the bleach and hair dye out of my hair. Finally, I now wear my natural colour. I wanted to do this before I go grey. My hair is in such good condition now, that using conditioner weighs it down and coats with residue. Not using conditioner however, can make my hair a little dry and unmanageable. The perfect solution for me is using Liz Earle’s Nourishing Hair Oil. Unlike Argan Oil, it smooths the ends of the hair without making it greasy. It’s the perfect substitute for hair conditioner.
“I will use hair oil after washing my hair instead of using conditioner”
About a week ago I introduced my facial routine in the evening as well as the morning. It means I’m now using moisturiser twice a day. I had been using up my Dermologica products so now they are getting used up really quickly. I thought now was a good time to level up my evening moisturiser to Liz Earle’s Superskin™ Concentrate for Night treatment oil. I love this stuff. When I used it before my skin was super soft in the morning and it smells so lovely that when you inhale it deeply before an application, it really inspires a sense of calm and readiness for sleep. My hands are a little oily afterwards so the temptation to thumb my phone is seriously unattractive, lol!
I have nearly come to the end of my mini shampoo bottles collected from hotel visits. This means I can now level up to my preferred choice. Currently I am switching back to Liz Earle products which I loved when I was using them a couple of years ago. I do have a wish to use greener, more ethical products in the future, but for now I need to focus on products that work and and make me feel good. When I have been on my path to perfection for a year, I can consider focusing on making greener products work for me.
So for now, I’m about to start using Liz Earle’s Botanical Shine Shampoo.
NEW HABIT: Order more Liz Earle shower gel when last bottle opened
This is day 23 on my path to perfection and today I will level-up for the second time. Level-up is what call a habit when it is improved. So, a couple of weeks back, I introduced the habit of having a shower in the morning on work days. At the time, I had some left over shower gels from hotel visits, and I vowed to use them up before purchasing my preferred brand. This saves money and is kinder to the environment. This morning, I used the last drop of my hotel shower gel and tomorrow I will start using my preferred choice. My favourite shower gel is Orange Flower Botanical Body Wash from Liz Earle. I love to shower in citruses, as I find them really energising and mood enhancing. As I travel on my path to perfection, my ultimate destination is to be very ethical, very environmentally friendly and eat a plant-based diet. These kind of standards are very hard to achieve overnight, which is why people think perfection isn’t possible. I believe perfection is possible, if you take baby steps or stepping stones. Moving my cosmetics to Liz Earle is my stepping stone. The brand is not as saintly as it sells itself, but it is a step in the right direction. The products are something I will enjoy, as I introduce the habits that require them. Once the habits are very well established, stepping towards extreme ethical products and habits will be much easier.
The cheapest I can get the body wash on the website is £13.50, if I buy three. The bottle I’m about to crack open was £10.95 from eBay, so a saving there. Because procrastinators, like me, persistently run out of things (which compromises our routine) I will be buying my next bottle the moment I open the last bottle. That’s called a ‘trigger’ and a lot of my newly created habits rely on triggers. I’m gonna enjoy tomorrow’s shower!
